ODM supporters in Mombasa County have organized a grand reception for Governor Hassan Ali Joho upon his arrival from an official trip to the USA on Sunday.
Mombasa ODM branch chairman Mohammed Hatimy said Mr Joho is expected to land at Mombasa’s Moi International Airport on Sunday.
“Upon his arrival the governor will first address an impromptu political rally at AkambaHandicraft in Changamwe constituency before embarking on an elaborate programme we have planned,” he pointed out.
Mr Hatimy who spoke during a press conference at in Mvita Constituency, Mombasa County said preparations for the governor’s arrival had been finalized.
The ODM county boss was accompanied by members of the local county assembly and party aspirants.
“I am urging Mombasa residents to turn up in large numbers to receive our governor when he arrives from overseas,” he said.

Mr Hatimy said Governor Joho on his arrival will be able to reveal achievements of his trip to the US and his political agenda.
“Let the government give the governor some peace to be able to perform his county duties for the remaining six months before the general election,” he said.
The ODM boss said Mr Joho has been able to work for two and half years with eight court cases against him in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kilifi counties.
Mr Hatimy said ODM supporters have resolved to rally behind Mr Joho in his re-election bid in the forthcoming General Election.
After the first stopover at the AkambaHandicraft in Changamwe constituency, the governor will proceed to Mikindani in Jomvu and later in Tudor in Mvita constituency before winding up at Freetown in Nyali constituency.
Mr Joho’s trip to the US is perceived by his supporters as major achievement against allegations of drug trafficking by his detractors from Jubilee Party.
