Nasa leaders from five key parties that form the National Super Alliance (NASA) have formed teams to mobilize supporters to register as voters across the country.

The parties that have formed teams to mobilize supporters and members to register as voters include ODM, ANC, Wiper, Kanu and Wiper.

According to a member of the parties’ strategy team, special teams have been deployed in at least 30 counties across the country with clear instructions to ensure NASA supporters register as voters.

Both aspiring candidates for parliamentary, women representatives and Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs) and seating ones are leading the exercise that is dubbed ‘Stakeholder’ Engagement Voter Registration Sensitization Exercise .

Financial rewards and trophies have been pledged to areas which will record the highest number of voters across the country. Cord/Nasa is targeting at least 4.5 million voters.

In Nairobi, Mr Eliud Owalo, is leading the exercise.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga led the voter registration sensitization exercise in Nairobi where he toured various parts of the city including Kibra and Kawangare where he described the ongoing mass voter registration as a do-or-die exercise for his fourth stab at the presidency.

Mr Odinga declared that the August 8 General Election would be won during the 30-day exercise that opened yesterday and ends on February 14, on a day the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) started registering voters hoping to list the six million potential new electors.

While on a tour of constituencies in Nairobi, Mr Odinga rallied opposition supporters to list as voters en masse and hand him a head-start.
